| JUNE
2003
8
June: Uncut
magazine's July 2003 issue cover CD includes Jeff's Sugar
Blue.
The CD is billed as "17 classic tracks by the best of today's
singer-songwriters".
The
text inside the magazine reads:
"Jeff
Finlin
Sugar
Blue
Taken
from the Gravity album Somewhere South of Wonder
"Recently
seen supporting Steve Earle on his British tour, Nashville-based Jeff
Finlin
is something of a late developer. He's been around in various
bands
and playing solo for two decades, but last year's Somewhere South of
Wonder,
his third album, found him really hitting his stride. Of course,
his voice and songwriting owe a debt to Dylan. But then
again,
whose doesn't? The lovely "Sugar Blue" is typical of his
tales
of everyman with its hobo evocation and haunting air of regret."
